Sidekicks — Why they must DIE!

Hero’s often surround themselves with fools, jesters, thieves and, well lets be honest all around idiots. The reason they do this is to keep their spirits up, to cause distraction and in some cases simply to irritate you, the Evil Overlord. There is a simple way to solve this problem, have them killed. Purge all the bumbling wizards, the court jesters, the cowards and it will be easier to kill the hero.

Nerd Herd
Chuck‘s Entire Support Group Falls into this category.

For example, the television show Chuck. It’s hard to say how many potential Evil Overlords were thwarted by Chuck… we do know without the Nerd Herd to back him up through comic relief and bumbling distractions, Chuck would have been lit on fire and used as a light source for the Neanderthals he worked with.

Chuck isn’t the only example of this of course there are so many to choose from though, to narrow the focus to only a few seems folly.  Those idiotic droids for Luke Skywalker, the Ferrets for the Beastmaster, “Q” for James Bond.  Those idiots surrounding Dr. Horrible… yes, yes I know he was supposed to be an Evil Overlord but we all know Captain Hammer was the true Overlord.

What have we learned form todays tip? Kill everything surrounding the Hero, no matter how pathetic they might be.

Happy Thanksgiving 2012.

A Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, from all of my personalities. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for the things in our lives that are good and true. Since my last post about this holiday I have decided I should list some things that I am thankful for. I encourage all of you to do the same!

Being young at heart and enjoying life.

Stay Young at Heart. I’m Thankful I can still play. It’s nice to be able to play at any age more so when you get older. This is my Daughter and I this past Halloween. I’m thankful her and her younger Sister and Brother think I’m young enough to still go out and play with them sometimes. Life will always intrude, reality will insinuate its way in, take some time to enjoy what you have.

Coffee is great in all its many forms

Coffee is something everyone should be thankful for. At least everyone who knows me. Without the coffee there would be know thinking, talking or, well there wouldn’t be anything. Coffee is the fuel that makes me go. If it were not for the coffee… well things in my world would come to a screeching halt and there would be ni recovery from it.

Magic is all around us. Take a moment to enjoy it. If you do, it can give you the Warm Glowy Fuzzies.

Magic is all round us this Thanksgiving. It’s important to take some time to tell the people in your life that you care about them, that you think of them and that your world is a better place with them in it. Magic is a matter of perception, believe in it and your world will open up in ways you can barely imagine and that take your breath away. That warm glow that suffuses you when you are content and at peace can be with you all the time, if you just let it happen.

With imagination the whole world is open to you.

Imagination is the most important thing I posses. I’m thankful for it everyday. It allows me to write, to dream and to consider the possibilities of what could be. Embrace your imagination, nurture it and allow it to grow. Nothing in life is every so bad that it cannot be overcome with the right attitude and the insight to embrace whats possible.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

This Thanksgiving be thoughtful in what you are thankful for. Be mindful for what you have, and what you could lose. Health, Wealth, friends Family… all are transient on this spinning rock we call home. Take some moments to enjoy what you have in the NOW. Let later take care of itself. Be well today and now I’m thankful for all of you who read my posts here. Hugs to you all.

Happy Thanksgiving, Slapsgiving — Err Happy Turkey Day… Drat… where are my Christmas Decorations!

Yes indeed it is that time of year again. Thanksgiving Day. Or if you are a fan of How I Met Your Mother, Slapsgiving. I truly wish I could just slap some people on this Holiday but it’s frowned upon by most people… Maybe not the people who read what I post here but… in general. So what do you all do on Thanksgiving?

This is one Smart Turkey!

We celebrate Thanskgiving by getting in each other’s way in the kitchen. By aiming snide remarks at people, and by being thankful… that I don’t have to interact with these people so much on most other days. Just the sheer amount of crap to do leading up to this Holiday sucks. You see I’m broke… not a little broke but broke. I’m sure there are going to be more people here then I will want to tolerate. I don’t have time to shop but will have to. I don’t have time to decorate, which makes the kids unhappy and in the end, the people coming won’t care anyway, but I will think they do. What’s to be thankful for in that? Screw Thanksgiving. Don’t get me wrong though, I like to eat the pie at the end… I do like that part.

Nothing quite so yummy as multiple flavors of pie!
Nothing Like having a Happy Slapsgiving!

Everyone has stories about great Thanksgivings. Well, most people… not me though I can remember being young and going to my Aunts house for Thanksgiving with my Mom and my Grandparents that was nice, I got to see my cousins and play … had nothing to do with the food at that point. The Thanksgiving Day parade was a highlight, getting to see Santa was a big deal so I looked forward to that. Inevitably though the arguing would start. My Grandfather would say something stupid after getting a few scotches into him, my Aunt would get upset then my Uncle would yell and it would deteriorate into that greatest of Holiday pastimes… silently gnawing on your own liver. This is family though.. and I miss them all. I’d give almost anything to see my Uncles, Cousins and My Grandparents again. I can’t though… so now we swap the stories and they are funny, even if they weren’t at the time.

Thanksgiving at my place is always a fun time!

Thanksgiving brings on the Christmas holiday times. I should say it used to, now Christmas starts in September for retailers. When I was growing up it meant it was time to put up the tree and decorations, not anymore. Decorations have been up since September in most retail stores. I find it sad that we are some materialistic that we lose the true meaning… fighting with your family. I do miss the feelings I had as a kid and I try to make it possible for mine to have those same feelings and to be able to look back and wince while still feeling that warm sense of togetherness.

The Best Thanksgiving show ever!

Nothing is ever as good as it was when we were kids. I can remember my Grandparents telling of times past and how great it was, and how nice to have everyone together. I can remember my Mom and Aunt’s doing it.. now I do it.. I’m sure my kids think I’m crazy and compare it to the typical “back in my day,” theme.

Dress of Success — Evil Overlords should dress in bright colors!

Ming The Merciless was a very Dapper Evil Overlord.

Evil Overlords are a breed apart. They dress in somber black and have an oppressive air about them at all times. People try to imitate them attempting to bring a sense of preternatural dread to their otherwise unimposing selves. How many dark robed psychopaths do we need? How many shredded cloak wearing faceless whatevers are necessary? Dare to be different, how confused would the hapless Hero be if confronted with brightly clad legions of terror?

We don’t want to take this to far of course, you should dress the part. However, your troops shouldn’t always follow suit. Ill give you a few examples. White Clad Stormtroopers in a jungle campaign is stupid, things might have gone differently on Endor if they had Camo armor. Likewise, bright red  coats and walking in straight lines is idiotic. You want to cause confusion, not a self-imposed  massacre of your own forces. Everything in moderation is the point here. Utilize all the tools at your disposal.

Don’t just run out and deck yourself out in a “Ming” like outfit though, remember the point is to be unique, be one of a kind, be an Evil Overlord that other less well gifted people will mimic. Let them be the posers, the pretenders and unimaginative and you be a trend setter. ALL HAIL MING!
