Zero Tolerance… that’s my “Z” choice. I chose this over my family’s recommendations of Zombies, a household favorite, and Zork… an old game. My final 2019 A to Z challenge letter… Zero Tolerance.
Having worked in retail for most of my adult life (I use the word adult loosely) I can with absolute certainty that this policy… and any like it are absolute CRAP!
Here are a few Zero Tolerance Policy’s and what happened.
I think we should have Zero Tolerance for things though… The world would be a better place. We wouldn’t need to be all crazy about it or anything just a word here or there. Someone harassing a girl tell them to stop. See someone stealing report them. Someone being racist correct them. We seem to allow a lot of disrespectful things to happen around us and we often say nothing. We don’t want to get involved, or speak up for fear of being ridiculed, perhaps… or maybe wrong.
The world seems to have a zero tolerance policy for civility… I’d like to see us all do better. Remember my “K” blog on kindness… Lets practice that for a while, and some understanding as well.
Thanks for being with me all month, I feel behind but we all stuck it out together!

I like Zero Tolerance better than Zombies, just saying. The first example you gave was ridiculous. How can you even equate the two? Sometimes management is odd. One of the reasons I could only stay in retail for six months. Congrats on finishing the A to Z!
