Best Movie Starting With B – Blade, You Heard Me Right.
Blade, a wonderfully loud, amazingly filmed, and… Vampires!! I love me some Vampire movies. No, not the sparkly kind, the evil no good kind. I love all Kinds of Vampire movies. Buffy the Vampire slayer, the movie not the show… sorry. John Carpenters Vampires, Nosferatu, Dracula, even documentaries (sort of) In Search Of “Dracula” This was the first time I had seen a Vampire hunter type movie. I had bought and read the comics and now there was going to be a movie.
Blade made my day when I saw it. Wesley Snipes did a good job playing the character and Stephen Dorff was a suitably evil bad guy. While the premise of the movie is fairly predictable it is still a whole lot of fun to watch. The two of them did a lot of work learning weapons and the fight scenes are pretty intense. Yes, I know the editing room but in 1998 CGI movie magic wasn’t as magical as now.
Someone had mentioned I should add ratings, I’ve never been a huge fan of ratings, it’s too rigid. I can tell you this is a fun movie to watch and you will enjoy watching it if you like Vampire movies or just action movies in general. The acting is good, especially Dorff’s character. the story is ok, but it’s a fun watch. Do you have a favorite movie that starts with the letter “B” Let me know in the comments. Not a “B” movie… I have a list of those too lol. Maybe you like Beauty and the Beast… which I had to add here since it was the movie my wife and I saw on our first date,.. and I don’t want to be killed.

I do like Blade, but for best starting with B I would maybe add ‘Runner’ to the end of it. Also I agree, no ratings, people are way to obsessed with rating everything. Nice work, keep it up.

Ah see, Blade Runner to me was confusing. I never knew why Han Solo was there. I’ll give it another shot though. I’m making a list 🙂

Omg I deserve all the judgements in the world…but I’ve never seen blade. Though I do really want to the occasion has yet to arise.

Have you watched the old Hammer Films vampire movies? Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. Terror and blood. Decades ago, I convinced my youngest sister (maybe 7 or 8 at the time) to watch Dracula Has Risen from the Grave. In the middle of the night, she crept into my room and climbed into bed with me. When I asked her what was wrong, she said, “YOU know!” and refused to utter another word. Now that’s a vampire movie!

That is my favorite quote from the movie too! Blade had some of the best lines. 😛 I love vampire movies, action movies, movies with Wesley Snipes…(yes he’s had a few I wasn’t a fan of, but love the Blade series and Demolition Man,Rising Sun, Passenger 57, and Drop Zone). Plus the Blade movies were based on the Marvel comic, and I’m a huge Marvel fan (okay, I’m a huge comics fan, I love Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Image…) so was definitely going to watch this one. Ryan Reynolds stole every scene of Blade Trinity that he was in, he definitely had some of the best lines in that one. I liked Blade II as well, but Norman Reedus will always be Darryl Dixon and Murphy McManus to me, watching him play a bad guy was just odd although he did a very good job of it.

Not exactly a fan of this movie, but I always like the action so I sometimes watch when they show Blade films on TV…So, have you seen the new B&TB movie yet with the wifey?
Love Buffy. The series, not the movie. Sorry. He he. I mean the flick explained things (of course since they were not banking on making a TV series yet then), but I found most of it really silly. Buffy was not particularly likeable. Scariest part for me, though, was when David Arquette was floating outside of Luke Perry’s window–I kept telling Luke not to let him in!
