I am fully onboard with the whole purging thing. I find it easier for me to handle when I can just step back and score two points throwing something in the trash. Its roots are thus. Middle English Februarie, from Old English Februarius, from Latin, from Februa, plural, feast of purification or at lest that’s what it says here.
I’m a big fan of throwing it out, all of it. Possession’s, relationships, baggage and, toxicity. There are numerous sites with pages and checklists on how to do this. I like this site it helps me and will help you as well. It doesn’t say anything about the existential things… but We’ll review that.
That covers possessions, now onto relationships, we will include jobs in this category. I could write for a few hours on both subjects individually. I won’t, but I could. It’s simple though. Those people that make you tired just thinking them… they have to go. You get a call or txt and see the name and all you can think is “Oh, what now!” Those people have to go away. When Their name shows up in your news feed, and before you start reading you just know it’s another Martyr without a cause post about their lives. These people, they got to go. If you happen to be one of those people who feed the Martyr… stop it, you aren’t helping that person. For work, same rules apply to the people. Someplace are just toxic and have been for a long time. Nothing you can say or do will likely change the outcome. In some instance it might be your job to try but, when all else fails it’s not a bad thing to move on from that job and find another that doesn’t cause you mental distress.
So for today, for me… I’m going to the medicine cabinet and cleaning all the old stuff out of it. For sure, I have at least four different bottles of Advil. I know it happens to us all. Your head hurts and you can’t find the pain pills so you get more. That, of course is when you find the other bottle. Just for fun I went to look, I found five (laugh). Since I don’t want to be negative or discardable in your life, I will add one more picture.
Real life. From a real mom. Raising real little people.
