Reasonable, Measured and Mature… Three things I usually Am not!

It’s true, at leasts not the particular personality that is writing to you all today. This personality doesn’t want to be reasonable, he wants to be pissed off at the world and then let it all burn. Reminds me of a quote I always liked from the Joker in the Batman Comics.

“In my dream, the world had suffered a terrible disaster. A black haze shut out the sun, and the darkness was alive with the moans and screams of wounded people. Suddenly, a small light glowed. A candle flickered into life, symbol of hope for millions. A single tiny candle, shining in the ugly dark. I laughed and blew it out.”

Don’t get me wrong I have no plans to go on a giggling, cackling, maniacally laughing spree of indiscriminate Evil. I’m just saying the thought is there, looming like a a slow motion video of a guy about to be creamed by a Nair filled water balloon.

Measured is something else, in this context I mean measured in proportion to the things going on around me. It dovetails in nicely with reasonable. I’ll give you an example. Let’s just say that you are out for a nice walk. It’s a beautiful day out. The sun is shining the birds are singing and a squirrel is frolicking in front of you just to show you how cool he is. It’s a fantastic day! You go to cross the street and a guy comes tearing by you, blows the stop sign, speeding and just barely misses you. Now a measured response could be several things. Anything from get the license plate and call a cop before he kills someone, to flip him off and carry on with your walk. My response today would be along the lines of  this.

Then there is mature, well I can be mature. I prefer not, maturity is boring. It has it’s place in the world but… I prefer it be someplace else 🙂 I’m just saying that being mature and having fun shouldn’t be mutually exclusive. You all have a great Day, and if anyone has an Apache chopper around, can I borrow it?
